Emergency Leadership & Management Program Face-to-Face Workshop – CARE INT

Emergency responses are a core part of what CARE does – from the origin of the organization to today. The Emergency Leadership and Management Program (ELMP) helps CARE’s most senior leaders to develop the skills they need to quickly and effectively respond to emergencies. This course involves individual study for Pre-Workshop Study and post On-the-Job Training, making the duration of the course 9 months (starting in late January and ending October).
Program Objectives:
- Describe the humanitarian landscape, CARE’s humanitarian mandate and positioning within the overall humanitarian landscape.
- Explain the role of the leader in ensuring appropriate CARE emergency responses.
- Lead emergency teams effectively, fulfilling the humanitarian mandate whilst considering team dynamics and demonstrating self-management under conditions of stress.
- Manage complex humanitarian operations (including management of risk, safety and security, ensuring accountability, gender equality).
Recommended for: CDs, RDs, ACDs, CARE Member directors, and others who play a senior role in guiding CARE’s responses in emergency settings
